Job Summary
Coordinate a small group of carriers and independently contracted drivers by planning, routing, and monitoring freight loads to ensure safe, on-time service. Build positive relationships with drivers and customers while resolving service issues, routing conflicts, and mechanical problems as they arise. Create customer-specific reports, manage inventory and assets, and handle administrative duties including payroll submission, budget management, and invoicing. Perform yard duties such as equipment inspections and coordinate with maintenance to schedule preventative services. Act as a liaison between carriers, customers, and company personnel to maximize productivity and profitability. Work any shift, including weekends, to satisfy scheduling demands.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1-2 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience
- Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
- Strong professional communication skills applied internally and externally
- Proven experience in establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships
- Experience in fostering strong customer relationships via delivery of commitments, open communication, and ongoing feedback/improvement
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
- Accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
- Experience in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Ability to consistently travel to account and customer locations
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directives
- Experience in holding people accountable and conducting difficult conversations
- Ability to perform in a stressful and high-pressure work environment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- 1 year of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience
