Job Summary
Coordinate a small group of carriers and independently contracted drivers by planning, routing, and monitoring freight loads to ensure safe, on-time service. Build relationships with drivers and customers to resolve service issues, routing conflicts, and mechanical problems while managing exceptions based on pick-up and delivery schedules. Create and present customer-specific reporting, financial analysis, and inventory management plans to optimize operations and profitability. Submit payroll, manage the Net-Revenue budget, and file documentation to support administrative duties. Work any shift, including nights and weekends, to satisfy scheduling demands.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1-2 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience
- Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
- Strong professional communication skills applied internally and externally
- Proven experience in establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships
- Experience in fostering strong customer relationships via delivery of commitments, open communication, and ongoing feedback/improvement
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
- Accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
- Experience in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Ability to consistently travel to account and customer locations
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directives
- Experience in holding people accountable and conducting difficult conversations
- Ability to perform in a stressful and high-pressure work environment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- 1 year of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience
