Job Summary
Canvasser responsible for student recruitment and family outreach across multiple Democracy Prep schools. Drive inquiries and applications by tabling at community events, organizations, schools, and other locations; create and execute a canvassing plan; engage families about enrollment opportunities; support events such as school fairs and Open House; enter inquiries and applications into tracking systems. Ideal candidates have experience in canvassing or charter-school admissions, strong communication, and community connections; Spanish language skills are highly preferred. Compensation is $25/hour with a schedule of one 8-hour day per week.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in community organizing, marketing, and charter school student recruiting preferred
- Spanish speaking candidates highly preferred
- At least 2 years of canvassing experience OR 1 year in a NYC Charter School OR extensive knowledge of Democracy Prep's work
