Job Summary
The Cans Deco Mechanic-2 maintains, repairs, and optimizes decoration machinery in the can manufacturing plant to ensure high-quality printing and efficient production. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance on printers, coaters, and ovens; diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues; executing corrective repairs; conducting equipment inspections; assisting with setup and changeover of decoration lines; monitoring equipment performance during production; collaborating with production teams to minimize downtime; maintaining accurate maintenance records; adhering to safety procedures; and participating in training to learn new technologies and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing environment with a focus on printing or decoration machinery
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, including motors, sensors, and control panels
- Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various industrial conditions
