Job Summary

Analyze existing OpenShift cluster deployments and design solutions to address identified shortcomings while establishing processes and tooling for long-term cluster health. Create Ansible automation content to reduce integration time for OpenShift clusters with CANES network, identity, and PKI services. Perform on-platform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of deployed clusters and applications. Author technical documentation for engineers and end users, including drafting and validating technical drawings. Identify new technology patterns and propose system updates to leverage technology improvements. This role requires at least five years of CANES and IT systems design experience, proficiency in Linux and Ansible, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on waterfront platforms. U.S. citizenship and Secret-level security clearance are mandatory. Approximately 10% travel to remote labs is expected.

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience with Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES)
  • At least five years of experience in IT systems design, development, integration, and support
  • Two or more years of experience with Enterprise Linux (RHEL, Rocky, CentOS)
  • Two or more years of experience with Ansible Automation Platform
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work on waterfront platforms during all seasons, some installation activities will require standing or walking while lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling heavy objects
  • Must be able to work autonomously and think through technical problems without the input or influence of others
  • Must have technical experience and expertise and a proven history of problem solving and solution implementation
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • A U.S. Government Security Clearance at the Secret Level

Desired Qualifications

  • With little supervision, design and develop solutions for the automated integration of Red Hat OpenShift clusters with CANES network, identity, and PKI services
  • Analyze problem sets, perform risk assessments of existing environments, and propose solutions for reducing risk and addressing identified pain points
  • Draft and validate technical drawings and support documentation, this includes identifying technical domains in need of attention and creating documentation from scratch
  • Guide junior engineers in their professional growth, provide technical guidance and leadership to junior team members to help them analyze current technologies, brainstorm improvements, and develop new solutions on their own
