Job Summary
Coordinate cancer screening appointments by calling external facilities to collect availability, book slots based on patient preferences, and verify facility capabilities and network status. Retrieve and upload diagnostic results from appointments and referrals via fax and phone, while accurately recording all order and referral details in the electronic health record. Communicate promptly with patients to confirm schedules, provide preparation instructions, and respond to inquiries regarding location and costs. Update the facilities database to ensure accurate information and resolve scheduling conflicts or access issues with empathy. Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to support the Virtual Cancer Clinic's mission of closing care gaps and improving patient outcomes across all 50 states.
Required Qualifications
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Passionate about helping patients navigate the complexity of the healthcare system
- Critical thinking skills with a focus on issue resolution and customer satisfaction
- Exceptional customer service, active listening, and verbal and written communication skills, professional phone voice
- Experience using EHR systems in a healthcare environment
- Expert knowledge of Google Apps and macOS
- Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and priorities
- Resilience in a fast-paced and dynamic operational environment
- Ability to handle stressful situations appropriately
- Must have access to a quiet, private, and secure location to work, ensuring protection of patient health information (PHI) and compliance with HIPAA standards
