Job Summary
Cancer Council Liaison provides face-to-face information, service navigation, and emotional support to people affected by cancer at the North West Cancer Centre, Tamworth Hospital. The role collaborates with oncology health professionals to establish referral pathways, raise awareness of CCNSW supportive care programs, and connect patients to hospital-based, local, and out-of-area services. The position is full-time and onsite at Tamworth Hospital, with a 2-year contract and a hybrid remote option.
Required Qualifications
- Qualifications in nursing or allied health
- Current registration with APHRA (nurse/radiation therapist/physiotherapist/psychologist) or tertiary qualification providing eligibility to relevant professional association
- Demonstrated understanding of supportive care needs of people affected by cancer
- Experience with distress management and referrals
- Engagement with health professionals and community services
- Experience in oncology clinical environments
- Strong communication skills
- Experience using client management databases and Microsoft Office suite
- Compliance with NSW Department of Health vaccination policy for Category A position
- Current Class C driver’s license and willingness to travel
