Job Summary
The Campus Staff Minister (CSM) is responsible for nurturing spiritual growth and fostering campus leadership through the establishment of witnessing communities on the university campus. Key responsibilities include developing self-leadership, leading students and faculty in Scripture study and prayers, creating culturally inclusive ministry plans, and mobilizing the campus community to engage in mission activities. This role requires a Bachelor's degree for positions assigned to four-year campuses, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a commitment to InterVarsity's mission and teachings. CSMs will build partnerships and raise funds to support ministry initiatives while achieving annual ministry goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required for CSMs assigned to a four-year campus.
- A minimum of an Associate's degree required for CSMs assigned to a two-year campus or a community college.
- Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement).
- Abide by InterVarsity’s Code of Conduct.
- Believe and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s Human Sexuality Theological Paper.
- Affirm and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s 'Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation'.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills (including ability to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Familiarity with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software
