Job Summary
Monitor hallways, outside areas, and safety cameras to uphold school safety. Engage in active team-building and demonstrate initiative while maintaining confidentiality. Requires strong interpersonal skills, English language proficiency, and the ability to work in conditions that include standing, walking, and potential lifting up to 25-75 pounds. Responsibilities include monitoring for safety, applying critical thinking and judgment to situations, and using computer software to support screening and reporting. Work environment includes indoor and outdoor settings, with 182 days per school year and salary scale aligned to the Teacher Assistant classification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Para Pro exam passing or two year degree or 60 college credits
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Prior work with children
- Knowledge of computers and applicable software
- Bilingual communication skills (preferred)
- Knowledge of teaching and instruction for individuals and groups
