Job Summary
Conduct site patrols on foot or in a vehicle to ensure personnel, building, and equipment security while monitoring for safety infractions or hazards. Control traffic and pedestrian flow at access points, report irregularities such as security breaches or emergency situations, and contact police, fire, or ambulance as required. Follow post orders, ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed, and provide assistance to individuals in need. Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to maintain site logs, respond to inquiries, and uphold data confidentiality. Walk 18-20 km daily, climb stairs, and make immediate decisions under pressure with minimal supervision. Requires an Alberta Security License, valid Class 5 license, and own vehicle. Full-time role with competitive wages, uniforms, and health benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Availability for variety of shifts including overnight shifts and weekends
- Ability to obtain Alberta Security License
- Valid class 5 license and own vehicle
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills while remaining professional with a tactful and friendly demeanor
- Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain site logs
- Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency situations with minimal supervision
- Discretion when handling confidential and private information
- Ability to perform under pressure and in adversity
- Ability to walk 18-20 km and climb stairs
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
