Campus Safety & Security Officer

Unarmed campus safety officer responsible for routine patrol, incident response, building security, and student-centered safety operations across classrooms, residence halls, parking areas, athletic spaces, and campus events. Key duties include conducting patrols, monitoring for safety hazards and policy violations, responding to emergency situations, assisting with access control and evacuations, providing basic first aid and de-escalation, documenting incidents with clear reporting, and coordinating with Residence Life, Student Conduct, Counseling & Wellness, and local emergency services. The role emphasizes prevention, visibility, service, de-escalation, accurate reporting, and timely referral to appropriate resources, with a focus on creating a safe, respectful, and supportive learning and living environment for students, employees, families, visitors, and community partners. Work is heavily oriented toward evening and overnight hours, with frequent shifts requiring calm, professional decision-making, and independent action in potentially stressful situations.
