Job Summary
Conduct routine and directed patrols of campus grounds, monitoring conditions and verifying building security including dorms. Enforce college policies and safety protocols by documenting violations of parking rules and other regulations. Investigate and document abnormal activity while providing safety escorts, jump starts, and assistance to students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Support victims of crime by documenting incidents and referring them to appropriate law enforcement agencies. Maintain lost and found property and collaborate with local law enforcement and external agencies to enhance campus safety awareness. Participate in ongoing training for security best practices, emergency response procedures, first aid, and use of security equipment. Work non-rotating 24/7/365 shifts including days, swing, and overnight with flexibility based on college needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and customer service skills
- Ability to demonstrate a calm and composed demeanor while deescalating high-stress situations
- Proficiency in using security equipment and technology to include CCTV cameras, two-way radios, and alarm systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Valid driver's license and the ability to operate a college vehicle
- Must meet and maintain Stephens Driver Qualification and Vehicle Policy
- Must be able to acquire a Missouri Class E Driver's License
- Ability to walk, stand, and lift moderate weights (minimum of 50 lbs.)
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions
- Availability for shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Desired Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in related field
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, emergency management or a related field
- Experience working in higher education
