Job Summary
The Campus Safety Officer is responsible for patrolling the campus, monitoring activities, and ensuring the safety of community members. The role requires inspecting the campus, responding to emergencies, writing incident reports, and maintaining security protocols. Candidates must possess a high school diploma with security experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain specific safety certifications. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with the community are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma and 3 years of previous security experience; or combined equivalency
- Valid NC Driver’s license in good standing
- Ability to be certified and maintain certifications in First Aid/CPR & AED, Non-Violent Crisis Prevention, Trauma Informed Care
- Exceptional writing, oral and interpersonal skills including conflict management and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated skills in effectively responding to and managing through challenging emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children & youth in a diverse workplace preferred
- Computer skills utilizing Internet and Microsoft applications and report writing experience
