Job Summary
Enforce campus rules and regulations while patrolling buildings and parking lots on foot or vehicle. Investigate complaints and suspicious circumstances, maintain security access, and monitor key card usage for staff, faculty, and students. Issue parking citations and respond to calls for service and dispatched alarms. Participate in emergency response processes and write incident reports. Perform mandatory overtime as requested and execute other duties as assigned. Variable shifts, weekends, and holidays are expected.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year professional work experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to resolve conflict and de-escalate situations
- Must possess computer skills in Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new computer software
- Variable shifts (including weekends, holidays) and on-call scheduling
- CPR and Basic First Aid certified or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment
- Ability to work while standing and/ or walking for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs without assistance
- Must maintain a valid Idaho driver's license
- Must maintain a level of fitness necessary to effectively respond to life threatening situations on the job
- Must have a Christian perspective (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition)
- Must be in agreement with the doctrine of the Nazarene church
- Must agree to live within the mission and lifestyle values of NNU
- Must be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the University
- Mandatory overtime upon request
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree (AA) in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or related field
- Experience working with the general public or in a college or university setting
