Job Summary
Coordinate all Campus Safety Dispatch functions by supervising student and staff dispatchers, managing their schedules, and providing training on computer-aided dispatch, access control, and video monitoring systems. Manage emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch officers, monitor alarm and camera systems, and disseminate information per protocol. Present recommendations to the Director of Campus Safety regarding dispatch protocols and equipment. Assist with access control solutions and foster relationships with local law enforcement. Perform all essential duties of a student dispatcher, including recording call information into the CAD system and initiating emergency notifications. Ensure all dispatch resources and procedures are maintained and up to date.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree (A.A.) or three to five years' related experience (in the criminal justice field) and supervisory experience
- Strong communications skills
- Familiarity with emergency management and Incident Command Systems (ICS)
- Must be available and flexible to periodically work weekends, evening, and holidays
- Must be a collaborator, able to be flexible and collaborative with a variety of people and personalities
- Must be able to manage confidential information
- Possess a valid driver's license
- No criminal record
- Lifting and carrying of objects 5-20 pounds or more
