Job Summary

Conduct trauma-informed, culturally responsive mental health services for youth and families in residential settings and the Independent Living Program, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and individual, family, or group therapy. Deliver evidence-based interventions while collaborating with caregivers, schools, probation officers, and courts to coordinate holistic care and advocate for equitable outcomes. Participate in interdisciplinary teams, case meetings, and supervision, and maintain comprehensive documentation in MISACWIS and billing systems. Authorize restraints when clinically necessary to ensure safety and engage families through strengths-based coaching. Requires a Master's degree, Michigan licensure, valid driver's license, and flexibility for varied schedules including evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling
  • Licensed to practice therapy in the state of Michigan
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good driving record
  • Adequate insurance
  • Strong knowledge of the common diagnoses and treatments for youth
  • Skills necessary to facilitate positive change
  • Ability to provide effective individual, family, and group therapy skills
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and support for youth
  • Strong knowledge of clinical issues related to systems involved youth and their families
  • Ability to maintain composure and use healthy coping strategies when exposed to stress
  • Ability to express and receive ideas clearly and respectfully using inclusive, accessible, and culturally aware communication methods
  • Demonstrating active listening
  • Ability to set priorities and allocate resources equitably
  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures consistently and equitably
  • Ability to be dependable, trustworthy, and committed to high-quality work
  • Ability to adjust to changing work environments, priorities, or organizational needs
  • Ability to select and commit to an effective and equitable course of action
  • Ability to recognize, respect, and adapt to cultural differences
  • Frequent ability to move between office, community locations, homes, schools, and court settings

Desired Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice therapy in the state of Michigan (preferred)
  • Actively working towards licensure
  • Experience working in the foster care and/or juvenile justice system
