Job Summary
Recruit and train a community of student volunteers at UMich to promote climate action on campus, starting by building and recruiting a team of supporters through petitioning and flyering, then converting supporters into volunteers. Organizers will engage volunteers through a series of campaign events and actions, debrief with volunteers and community contacts, and stay involved with climate action. Responsibilities include recruiting and training volunteers, identifying new supporters, running grassroots trainings, maintaining volunteer lists, developing volunteer leaders, representing the campaign in community spaces, organizing high-visibility campus events, educating community members about climate investments and urgency, and managing digital campaigns, data, and reporting tools (email campaigns, social posts, and daily/weekly reports). The role requires relationship-building, inclusive leadership, commitment to equity, driven results, strong organizational and communication skills, and availability to work weekends and weekday evenings. Salary: $55,000 to $67,000 for full-time at 50 hours per week with equity-based pay calculator; no-negotiation policy; cell-phone stipend offered.
