Job Summary
Ensure student and staff safety at all times by checking visitors for proper identification, guarding campus grounds, and guiding authorized individuals. Report unacceptable behavior or incidents requiring police assistance to School Administration while supporting staff during hall monitoring, lunchroom duty, bus arrivals/departures, and class transitions. Maintain effective rapport with students, staff, and parents through appropriate communication and professional decorum. Act quickly and calmly during emergency situations, write simple reports, and perform other related work as required. This 10-month full-time role offers medical, dental, vision, and 401K benefits with a $5,000 retention stipend.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of the basic methods and practices of school monitor work
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with teachers and school staff
- Maintains appropriate communication and professional decorum with students
- Takes initiative and is resourceful in problem solving
- Ability to act quickly, calmly, and correctly, during emergency situations
- Ability to write a simple report
- High school degree or equivalent
- Successful results of criminal and employment background check and drug testing
Desired Qualifications
- Monitor experience: 2 years (Preferred)
- Spanish (Preferred); many of our families are primarily Spanish speaking
