Campus Minister

Job Summary
Provide pastoral care, Christian counseling, and mentorship to college students; plan and lead campus ministry programs including prayer groups, retreats, workshops, service projects, and faith-based events; coordinate recruitment, training, and development of student ministry leaders; create promotional content for events and resources via social media, weekly emails, monthly newsletters, and other communications; assist with budgeting and financial tracking for ministry activities; attend weekly staff and student meetings; perform additional duties related to campus ministry or communications; 20-28 hours per week; compensated by hourly wage; position is part-time; location in Hammond, LA; must be an active Catholic and possess strong leadership, communication, and event-coordination skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must be an active, fully initiated member of the Catholic Church with knowledge of Catholic teaching and tradition
- Prior experience in campus ministry, youth ministry, or related pastoral work preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability with college students or young adults
- Strong communication, teaching, and public speaking skills
- Experience planning and coordinating events, retreats, or programs
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including record keeping and basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with ministry staff and student leaders
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
- Commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for students of diverse backgrounds
- Must be available to work evenings, occasional weekends, and special events
- Physically and emotionally capable of fulfilling position responsibilities
