Job Summary
Seasonal Lifeguard for YMCA Southcoast summer camp. Maintains constant pool surveillance, enforces health and safety rules, conducts chemical testing, performs equipment checks, and maintains required records. Responds to emergencies per YMCA policies, providing timely reports and follow-ups. Works in a safety-conscious, welcoming environment and collaborates with staff to promote safety and engagement; required to hold CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED and Lifeguarding certifications, with additional Oxygen Administration certification to be obtained within stated timelines. Training and development aligned with YMCA competencies to support a safe member experience.
Required Qualifications
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED (infant/child/adult) & Basic First Aid Certifications
- Current certification YMCA Lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
- Attainment of YMCA Lifeguarding certification within 90 days of hire or as soon as class is offered in the Association
- Ability to achieve Oxygen Administration certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to maintain certification level of physical and mental alertness
