Job Summary
Teach swimming to campers ages 3-14, manage pool operations including water quality testing, and ensure safety through positive group management and emergency response. Complete weekly progress reports, supervise campers as a role model, and collaborate with instructors to implement ESF Core Values daily. Maintain physical readiness for rescue operations involving lifting up to 35 pounds and running distances. Work Monday through Friday from 8:15 am to 3:40 pm with pre-approved schedule changes required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least age 16 by the start of camp
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid Certification
- Current American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification
- Must have the physical capability to see (near and far), climb, bend, swim, float, kneel, and carry individuals during rescue operations
- Push/pull, lift, and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus
- Work outside, upright, and mobile for six (8) hours per day
- Respond to emergencies, including running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and ascending stairs without undue exertion

Desired Qualifications
- Previous swimming background with swim team, water polo team or other structured swim program preferred
- Previous experience working with children in a camp setting is preferred
