Job Summary
Temporary, full-time Camp Leader delivering engaging activities for children aged 6-12 during the Canada Summer Jobs program. Responsibilities include promoting and facilitating developmentally appropriate programs, co-creating an inclusive child-centered environment, establishing trusting relationships with participants and families, room setup and teaching food preparation skills, administrative tasks (attendance, file maintenance, report writing), providing one-on-one support, monitoring progress, assisting with emergencies, and participating in staff debriefings. Requires youth (15-30), eligibility to work in Canada, completion of high school diploma, First Aid, Criminal Background Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, and relevant certifications; prior experience with children and strong teamwork, leadership, and safety-focused skills are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Between 15-30 years old and eligible to work in Canada
- Completion of high school diploma
- First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
- Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to The Salvation Army
- Experience working with children or knowledge of child development
- Ability to work full-time June 24 to August 28, 2026
- Comfort with executing safety protocols and health training requirements
- Completion of TSA online Presidium Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
