Job Summary
As Head Chef, oversee all aspects of food preparation, kitchen management, and staff coordination for camp meals, including budget adherence, menu planning to meet nutritional needs and dietary restrictions, inventory control, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, supervising kitchen staff and labor costs, and ensuring timely, high-quality meals for camp participants. Responsibilities include developing weekly menus, coordinating with camp administration, ensuring compliance with health and sanitation regulations, training and mentoring staff, managing equipment and storage, handling special dietary requests, and delivering exceptional customer service in a dynamic, high-volume camp setting.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar culinary management role
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs
- Ability to plan nutritious, varied menus for large groups
- Experience in supervising and mentoring kitchen staff
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, camp-style environment
