Job Summary
Oversee and facilitate all aspects of the Summer Day Camp program, including hiring staff, training, and curriculum during the summer; facilitate School’s Out Fun Days and leading engagement events during the school year; supervise and develop staff to ensure safe, high-quality experiences; manage the Child Watch department year-round; participate in marketing, fundraising, budgeting, and program evaluation; coordinate transportation for field trips; maintain accurate staff and participant records; ensure compliance with state licensing and YMCA policies; contribute to branch goals and community relations; demonstrate leadership in safety, youth development, and collaborative program delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Have 1 of the following: WI afterschool and youth development credential, bachelor’s degree in outdoor education, recreation, coaching, juvenile justice, social work, psychology, child development, or education or another camp related field or 2 or more years of supervisory or administrative experience in an organized camp or children’s program
- CPR and First Aid Certification required within 60 days of hire
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Minimum of one year experience working with school-aged children preferably in a camp setting
- Minimum of one year experience directly supervising employees
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
- Ability to direct programs through supervision of staff, development and monitoring budgets, marketing and public relations
