Job Summary
Lead daily camp activities and manage camper groups from preschool through 8th grade, collaborating with co-counselors on art, STEM, sports, and swimming projects. Ensure safety and well-being by supervising campers, modeling core values like gratitude and resilience, and promptly reporting concerns to the Site Director. Perform physical duties including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds while working outdoors for six to eight hours. Respond to emergencies, run up to one mile, and ascend stairs as needed. Work Monday through Friday for 35–40 hours with nights and weekends off. Complete all required ESF and state-mandated training before camp begins.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children
- Must be at least age 17 by the start of camp
- Must be at least age 18 by the start of camp (Mini Camp Division)
- Complete all required ESF and state-mandated training and onboarding
- Maintain the ESF Look (camp uniform)
- Push/pull, lift, and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus
- Work outside, upright, and mobile for six (6) to eight (8) hours per day
- Respond to emergencies, including running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and ascending stairs without undue exertion
- Demonstrate ESF Core Values & Code daily
- Model the ESF Virtues of Character (Gratitude, Respect, Trustworthiness, Effort, Kindness, Positivity, Resilience, Community) in camp daily
- Adhere to all company policies
- Maintain clear, concise, and engaging communication with campers, families, peers, and our leadership team
