Job Summary
Join the YMCA team as a Camp Counselor to inspire youth by leading outdoor games, crafts, and team-building activities in a safe and inclusive environment. This seasonal position involves supporting program activities aligned with YMCA values, supervising children, and ensuring safety and engagement among participants. The role requires certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships within the community. Responsibilities include maintaining program records, enforcing safety principles, and fostering an environment that values diversity.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18+ with a passion for mentoring and adventure.
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Desired Qualifications
- Six months or more of related experience is preferred.
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
