Job Summary
The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is hiring Day Camp Counselors to lead engaging and age-appropriate activities while serving as role models for campers. Responsibilities include planning activities, supervising groups of 6-12 campers, ensuring safety, and building relationships with children and families. Candidates should have a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and respect for youth of all backgrounds. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with CPR and First Aid certifications to be obtained shortly after employment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children (preferred but not required)
- Must be 18 years or older
- CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Safe certifications (must obtain within 60 days)
- Successful background screening and health screenings for YMCA
