CAM Legal Liaison I

Collaborate with internal personnel and outside counsel to establish legal strategy while maximizing cost containment. Initiate direct contact with business partners and vendors to ensure services meet predetermined service level agreements. Negotiate sale and settlement agreements and monitor workout strategies to protect collateral interests and expected net returns. Review and approve attorney SmartSpend fees, tracking expenses at the customer level. Adhere to applicable compliance and operational risk controls, maintaining M&T internal control standards and addressing audit points. This role supports legal process functions including accounts, repossession, foreclosure, and bankruptcy processing with limited customer interaction.
