Job Summary
Conduct individual and small group advising for high school students on college admissions, A–G coursework, and postsecondary planning. Assist families with FAFSA and CADAA applications, track progress toward deadlines, and provide referrals to campus and community resources. Deliver classroom presentations and workshops on college readiness and financial aid literacy while recruiting eligible students to Cal-SOAP services. Maintain accurate records of student contacts and outcomes in designated databases, compile documentation for grant reporting, and coordinate event logistics. Collaborate with high school counselors and Cal-SOAP staff to align services with student needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Working knowledge of college admissions processes, A–G requirements, and federal/state financial aid programs
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse student populations and families
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and utilize student information systems or databases
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
