Job Summary
Call Representative at Coastal Health serves as the first point of contact for patients across multiple specialty practice locations (spine and pain, orthopedics, podiatry). Responsibilities include handling a high volume of inbound calls, scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments, providing information about locations, providers, services, and procedures, routing calls to appropriate departments, documenting communications in the practice management and EMR systems, verifying demographics, assisting with referral and insurance inquiries, addressing patient concerns, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and meeting productivity, quality, and customer service standards. The role requires strong verbal communication, organizational and time-management skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and preferred experience in medical offices or call centers with multi-line phones; knowledge of medical terminology is a plus. Minimum 1 year of experience in the medical field is preferred.
