Job Summary
Under the supervision of the DWIHN Call Center Director, the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Technician conducts intake, screens for SUD, initiates referrals, and provides authorization and care management services within outpatient, withdrawal management, residential authorizations, and case management processes. Responsible for determining levels of care, gathering and assessing information, administering evidence-based screening tools, developing treatment plans, coordinating with community resources, and performing ongoing assessments to monitor safety and relapse potential. Performs three-way warm transfer calls, supports utilization reviews, and ensures documentation of results and recommendations. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, three years of relevant experience, and CADC/CAADC certification. Contingent staff may work remotely with management approval; the position supports a 24/7 call center operation with potential shift work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in a Human Service, Social Service, Public Health, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Management or related field
- Three (3) years of full-time paid experience working in a human service or social service field
- Certification as a Certified Addiction Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified Advanced Addiction Drug Counselor (CAADC) by the Michigan Certification for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP)
