Call Center Specialist

Job Summary
Operate the telephone system by answering incoming calls, schedule patient appointments (distinguishing urgent from non-urgent injuries), and direct callers to appropriate personnel to ensure patient care. Maintain accurate messages and provide information about the organization, including directions and address details. Requires high school diploma or GED, about one year of related experience or training, strong communication, multitasking ability, familiarity with medical terminology, and prior customer service experience; experience in an orthopaedic setting and knowledge of medical/insurance workflows are helpful.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior customer service representative experience required
- Knowledge of medical terminology helpful
- Knowledge of 3rd party insurance and medical office experience helpful
- Prior experience in an orthopaedic setting helpful
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain professional telephone etiquette
