Job Summary
Provide a variety of front-office and clinical-administration duties for a medical practice, including patient registration, insurance verification, billing and collections, scheduling appointments, and patient check-in/out. Utilize the EMR system, ensure accurate patient information and billing, answer questions from patients, communicate with providers, and maintain confidentiality while delivering high-quality customer service. Requires knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding, billing practices, and insurance procedures; involves interacting with staff, patients, and visitors in an office setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Three to five years of related call center or front office medical experience
- In-depth knowledge of medical office practices and billing procedures
- Broad understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding practices
- Proficiency with personal computers and related software
- Broad understanding of insurance practices and procedures
- Broad understanding of medical terminology
- Knowledge of patient registration, patient billing, and EMR systems
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Excellent customer service skills
