Job Summary
Answer phones in a timely, professional manner and greet patients upon entry. Provide directions, information, and assistance to help patients navigate services and locations. Update patient information, including insurance, financial data, and sliding scale status, while verifying current documents and noting missing details. Confirm new or existing patients, establish the nearest center, and schedule appointments in coordination with medical staff. Remind patients to bring medications and monitoring logs, reschedule appointments as needed, and communicate concerns to clinical and administrative staff via EMR or email. Ensure all interactions adhere to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Electronic Health Records preferably Allscripts software system
- Understanding of laws and regulations impacting the registration procedure
- Ability to accurately enter data, preferably typing at a minimum of 45 wpm
- Ability to diffuse and handle difficult situations by using good judgment, control of emotion and diplomacy
- Demonstrates grammatically-correct verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates efficient and courteous telephone skills
- Demonstrates resilience, a positive attitude and the ability to work well in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work in a team setting and/or with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer experience in a physician's office, clinic, hospital business office, billing office or related area dealing with the public in collection of data and funds
