Job Summary
Answer phone calls, schedule patient appointments, and route inquiries to appropriate departments while documenting interactions in the electronic health record. Complete and update patient registration, run insurance eligibility checks, and create billing notes for outstanding documents. Troubleshoot patient concerns regarding orders and health information, ensuring accurate patient identification and correct scheduling. Provide explanations appropriate to the customer's level of understanding and send messages to care team members as necessary. Record cancellations, re-schedules, and updates to patient demographics and insurance information. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year experience in medical office, hospital or clinic
- Administrative and customer service experience in a busy customer service-related environment
- Strong computer and data entry skills including MS Office
- electronic health record system
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Bilingual in English/Spanish/Dari/Punjabi/Vietnamese
