Job Summary
Call Center Medical Assistant to support patients and the clinical team by handling medication refill requests, coordinating prior authorizations, and serving as a clinical liaison between patients, pharmacies, providers, and insurance payers. Responsibilities include documenting patient-reported information, reinforcing care instructions, ensuring timely communication and follow-up, processing refill requests per workflows, communicating authorization status, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant documentation in the EHR. Collaborates with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to support patient care coordination, address medication access and insurance requirements, and meet productivity, quality, and customer service benchmarks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) certification preferred.
