Job Summary
The Call Agent will handle telephone and live chat inquiries across multiple queues (Dog License, Vital Records, Health Academy, Accela, STD results line, PAL, Literature Fulfillment) and provide informed assistance to the public regarding ordering/correcting birth and death certificates, status checks via the E-vital portal or email, and referrals for health education and counseling. Duties include disseminating public health information, guiding customers through processes, assisting staff with NYC DOHMH website navigation, maintaining computerized databases, and handling emergencies and ad hoc tasks. Preferred skills include strong customer service orientation, courteous telephone manner, excellent oral and written communication, basic computer literacy, with Spanish language ability being a plus. The role is part-time with potential for up to two remote workdays per week depending on position, based in Long Island City, NY.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent
- three years of experience in community work or related duties
