Job Summary
Deliver high-impact 1:1 academic support to students in their homes or approved community settings across California. Adapt lessons in reading, writing, math, and study skills to meet individual learning styles and goals, while providing specialized assistance for students with special education needs and IEPs. Monitor progress, maintain accurate session documentation, and communicate effectively with families and school teams. Foster a safe, inclusive environment that builds student confidence and empowers them to reach their full potential.
Required Qualifications
- A location in California with the ability to reliably commute to student locations in their assigned area
- Enrollment in an accredited college/university or an AA, BA, or higher degree
- The ability to successfully complete a comprehensive background check
Desired Qualifications
- degrees or coursework in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related fields
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, coaching, childcare, or other youth-focused roles
- Experience supporting students with different learning styles, academic needs, special education needs, or behavioral accommodations
- Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, adaptability, and the ability to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school teams when applicable
- Spanish fluency or additional language skills
