Job Summary
Oversee delivery of transportation improvement projects, managing the full life cycle from pursuit through change management. Recruit, mentor, and direct Delivery Project Managers and discipline leads on risk management, scoping, pricing, and budget execution. Conduct monthly project reviews to validate resourcing needs and monitor progress against key performance indices while performing QA/QC reviews and acting as technical advisor or design leader. Lead client check-ins and presentations to manage expectations and satisfaction. Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparations and serving as project pursuit lead to guide teams toward efficient selection. Prepare written reports, calculations, and design documentation. This role supports Arcadis' expansion in California's transportation sector, requiring a California Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain one within six months. Salary ranges from $188,232 to $282,348.
Required Qualifications
- 20+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- California Professional Engineering license, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
- In-depth understanding of Caltrans project delivery processes
- Experience delivering projects in transportation industry
- Ability to oversee overall delivery of growing design and engineering teams following Arcadis' process and industry best practices
- Must have strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills and be an initiative-taking, collaborative and flexible individual who possesses the initiative and ability to tackle project and resourcing challenges
- Excellent, clear, and concise, oral, and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports
Desired Qualifications
- Experience delivering projects with Public Sector Clients in California
- Design Build, Alterative Delivery and Owner's Representative Experience
- Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations
- Ability to recruit and mentor team
