Job Summary
Assist the Program Director in operations of the before and after care program for school-age children; implement age-appropriate, engaging activities aligned with the Caliday curriculum; provide guidance to the teacher assistant; manage the program space and ensure compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and company standards; create a welcoming environment for children, parents, and visitors; supervise and counsel children using Conscious Discipline; communicate with parents and school community; maintain classroom safety, cleanliness, and organization; identify opportunities or problems and collaborate with team members to resolve; maintain yearly certification including CE credits; requires 400 hours of experience with school-age children; qualifications include an AA or bachelor’s degree (or the 45 clock hours of related training) and CPR/First Aid, Basic Health and Safety, and ADA training.
Required Qualifications
- AA or bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or the 45 clock hours Child Development, birth through school-age, and the 45 clock hours Curriculum for School Age Care
- 9 clock hours of training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public, CPR and First Aid training certificate, Basic Health and Safety training certificate and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) training certificate
- 400 hours of experience working with School Age children in a professional environment
