Job Summary
Learn fundamental calibration skills and techniques to calibrate low-end process instrumentation across three disciplines including electrical, dimensional, and pressure systems. Work with lab technicians to identify appropriate measurement techniques, maintain calibration standards, and perform calibrations within a laboratory or supervised customer on-site setting. Fulfill duties safely while adhering to company requirements and standards, with a travel requirement of 25-50% of the work schedule. This entry-level position supports Transcat's mission as a leading calibration and compliance services provider in vital industries like life sciences and aerospace.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes
- Ability to take direction and learn from feedback
- Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team
- 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver's license and acceptable driver history
- Associates degree from college or technical school
- At least one (1) year related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience or training in electronics or machining
- Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics
- Familiarity with basic hand tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Organizational and time management skills
- Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics
