Job Summary
Identify and catalog instruments requiring calibration or repair, then perform or delegate these tasks to accredited third parties. Maintain gauges and reference standards per NIST, customer, and regulatory requirements while preparing SOPs, forms, and guidelines aligned with ISO-10012, ANSI-Z-540, and MIL-STD-45662A. Complete calibrations, qualifications, and preventive maintenance safely without direct supervision. Manage catalogs, databases, and recall systems; prepare RFCs for capital expenses and annual budget proposals for metrology acquisitions. Handle client and internal equipment, report malfunctions, and suggest upgrades while adhering to safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED combined with 2-5 years of progressive learning experience
- Associates degree or certificate in electronics, mechanical trades, engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of measurement principals regarding pressure, temperature, flow, mass, and electrical signals
- Familiarity with quality standards including ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, ANSI Z540, or cGMP guidelines
- Ability to maintain constant mental and visual attention/alertness to diverse testing procedures and other activities
