Job Summary

Perform regular calibration and maintenance of measurement and testing equipment at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, ensuring accuracy and precision of all readings. Follow documented procedures to adjust, repair physical, mechanical, and dimensional measuring devices, and assist in developing new measurement methods and uncertainty budgets. Work independently with little supervision while making recommendations to improve work quality, efficiencies, and productivity. Adhere to OSHA, NASA, and Aetos safety requirements, and assist in training others as requested. This role requires a U.S. citizen with PMEL certification or five years of aerospace calibration experience, including the ability to lift 50 pounds and work in both laboratory and outdoor customer sites.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen with ability to pass a NASA background investigation
  • Ability to pass an initial and random drug testing
  • Ability to use a personal computer in the performance of automated calibration processes and for workload management and tracking as required
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • US DOD Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) Certification or equivalent
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in calibration in an aerospace environment
  • Ability to work daily in an environmentally controlled laboratory setting
  • Ability to occasionally work at customer sites to include outdoors
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements when calibrating certain TMDE
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements including kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and occasionally climbing
