Job Summary
Produce calcium metal in furnaces, create additional products on secondary equipment, monitor furnace operations, prepare materials for production, and maintain support equipment. This safety-sensitive role requires English proficiency, math skills, computer system navigation, and mechanical aptitude. Candidates must work the 1st shift on a rotating schedule including weekends and days off during the week, with potential overtime, holidays, and weekend coverage. The position involves exposure to dust, loud noise, hazardous materials, and high places, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive physical movements. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to speak and read English
- Ability to read math
- Ability to use computer systems
- Mechanical aptitude
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays, and weekends, as necessary
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to and including 50 pounds
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach twist, lift, climb, push and pull throughout the work shift
- Ability to work in close proximity to others and equipment
- Ability to work in outside weather conditions
- Ability to work in hazardous materials environment
- Ability to work at high places
