Job Summary
Operate the Cage Mill and Impact Mills to maintain proper control and produce first-quality stucco and land plaster. Monitor mill temperatures, bin levels, and feed rates while adhering to all operating procedures and safety rules. Test moisture using a CompuTrac analyzer, input data into control reports, and communicate alarms or quality issues to supervisors. Follow lock-out procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and participate in weekly safety meetings. Work 12-hour shifts rotating between day and night, with flexibility to fill in on other jobs as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to read cut lists and accurately complete special tags
- Must be able to use a touch screen computer and input information
- Must be able to lift/ move up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 51 lbs. occasionally
- Must be able to perform basic math and metrics
- Must be flexible with job duties; may be required to fill in on other jobs when the business or organization is short-handed
- Must be available for 12-hour shifts; 4 days on/ 4 days off; Rotate every 16 days between day and night shifts
- Day shift: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
- Night shift: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
- Over time as required
- Full-time only
- Must wear appropriate PPE for the job conditions
- Must understand how and where to properly lock-out all job related equipment
- Must understand safe operation for forklifts
- Must understand mobile equipment safety inspection
- Must adhere to all quality-related procedures
- Must understand all stucco and land plaster specifications and inform supervisor when necessary
- Must monitor the Cage Mill and Impact Mills operations to ensure first-quality stucco
- Must communicate any situations that could affect stucco quality or mill operations
- Must follow all mill area operating procedures
- Must monitor mill temperatures to ensure uniformity
- Must monitor all bin levels in the mill to ensure adequate supply
- Must follow sampling procedures
- Must notify the Wet End Supervisor and/or Shift Foreman of any alarms or problems in the mill area
- Must record set points, bin levels, and actual feed rates from the HMI to the proper control reports completely and accurately
- Must follow proper mill start-up and shutdown procedures
- Must maintain housekeeping in the designated area
- Must understand JSA's for the area
- Must be able to Test stucco and land plaster using a CompuTrac moisture analyzer
- Must input information onto mill control reports accurately and completely
- Must operate in a safe manner, following all plant and departmental safety rules and procedures
- Must participate in weekly crew safety meetings
- Must have high attention level, such as watching the process, listening for alarms, and recognizing changing data and conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Front loader/ and or heavy equipment experience is a plus
