Job Summary
Fill tables and cases with cakes by taking product from prep to sales areas and apply merchandising principles to generate sales. Take special orders from guests over the telephone and in person, then accurately record these orders to ensure customer delight. Ice and decorate cakes using prepared icing, spatulas, and bags while reading recipes and measuring ingredients. Maintain product quality by checking dates and condition, rotating stock, and ensuring code dating procedures are followed. Operate department equipment including mixers, scales, and airbrush guns while maintaining cleanliness of equipment, tables, and floors. Greet customers, answer questions, and provide exemplary service by helping them locate products. Document daily known loss and maintain safety as a top priority in all aspects of work.
Required Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of job specific skills assessment
- 6 to 12 months experience
- successful completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program
- No High School diploma required
- Up to 50 pounds
- At least 18 years of age
