Job Summary
Fill tables and cases with cakes by taking product from prep to sales areas and follow procedures to meet out-of-stock goals. Take special orders from guests over the telephone and in person, then accurately record them to ensure customer delight. Ice and decorate cakes using prepared icing and spatulas, reading recipes and measuring ingredients while applying merchandising principles to generate sales. Maintain quality by checking dates and conditions, rotating product, and ensuring code dating is followed. Prepare icing and products by mixing ingredients, operate department equipment including mixers and airbrush guns, and assist in maintaining backroom efficiency. Greet customers, answer questions, and ensure safety and sanitation regulations are met throughout the store.
Required Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of job specific skills assessment
- 6 to 12 months experience
- successful completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program
- No High School diploma required
- Up to 50 pounds
- At least 18 years of age
