Job Summary
Greet customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service while filling special orders for custom and wedding cakes. Ice, decorate, package, label, and price products for production and backstock fulfillment, operating bakery equipment like ovens and mixers. Adhere to federal food safety and sanitation regulations, organizing freezer stock to minimize waste and ensuring all products meet company standards. Assist in training new associates and support the Deli department as needed. Work in a fast-paced bakery environment with exposure to temperature changes and physical demands involving lifting up to 60 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Previous experience as a Cake Decorator or equivalent experience in a bakery or foodservice environment
- Strong knowledge of cake decorating techniques and an eye for detail
- Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math tasks
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions and solve problems independently
- Knowledge of federal food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work well with others as a team member in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and the ability to design unique and custom cakes for customers
- A passion for serving customers and creating beautiful, high-quality products
- Ability to lift products weighing up to 60 pounds
