Job Summary
Cafeteria Worker – Family Services (Part Time) responsible for preparing and serving food and maintaining a safe, sanitary kitchen under the Elders program. Duties include following recipes and food preparation procedures, serving meals to meet nutritional needs, evaluating food quality, setting up and tearing down stations, delivering friendly customer service, assisting with inventories, receiving and rotating stock, cleaning kitchen and dining areas, and collaborating with the program coordinator on classes for the Post Covid Environment – Preparedness, Safety Protocols, and nutrition. Requires High School Diploma or GED, six months cooking/food prep experience, and SERV Safe certification (or obtain within 90 days). Standing/walking for long periods, ability to handle kitchen equipment and potential travel for meetings/trainings, and flexibility in work schedule are noted. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, plus confidentiality, are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six months experience of cooking and food preparation in a restaurant or cafeteria setting
- SERV Safe Food Handler certification or must obtain within 90 days of employment
