Job Summary
Performs food preparation and serving tasks in a school cafeteria; prepares, cooks, and serves meats, breads, vegetables, and other foods; operates food service equipment and cash register; maintains sanitation and safety; assists in ordering supplies and stocking; serves as cashier when needed; supports cleanup and adherence to portion control.
Required Qualifications
- Is at least 21 years of age
- possesses a high school diploma or GED certificate
- some experience in food preparation
- physical stamina to withstand temperature variances and lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to operate food service equipment and cash register
- effective communication and ability to work with students, staff, and co-workers
- ability to prepare and serve a variety of foods
- maintain sanitary conditions
- adherence to safety and portion control standards
- willingness to participate in training and accept changes
- observes and promotes safe work practices
- prepares and serves meals and banquet foods as required
- performs other duties as assigned
